Northwest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center

– Supporting Global Medical Missions –

The Northwest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center in Lacey supplies used eyeglasses to those who do medical missions for the needy throughout the world. Corrected eyesight means so much to those in remote third world countries who don’t have access to an optometrist and cannot afford a pair of prescription glasses. NLERC is looking for senior volunteers to perform easy sit-down tasks in a relaxed social setting. Tasks include inspecting, washing, determining prescriptions, and preparing glasses for shipment. Hours are flexible as they have teams working during the days and evenings. Call 360.923.2075 for more information.

Are you like me, donating my old eyeglasses but not knowing what happens to them next? Join us for a tour of the NW Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center facility to find out what they do with our glasses and how our donation can benefit people all over the world. These are the folks who provide our free reading glasses! On Tuesday, June 28th, meet at the NWLERC, 9013 Mullen Rd SE at 1 pm for a fascinating tour.
