Meals on Wheels for Seniors

Did you know that Senior Services offers a Meals on Wheels service?

Eligibility for home delivered meals is based on people who meet the criteria of being 60 or older, unable to cook for themselves, lack someone to cook for them, and confined to their home with the inability to get out on their own.

Those who qualify may help support the program by voluntary donations. The recommended amount is $3-$6 depending on your ability to pay. People who do not qualify may still receive home delivered meals by paying $7.40 per meal; this fee covers delivery costs, milk, and bread, in addition to the cost of the meal. Additional support comes from the Federal Older Americans’ Act, Lewis- Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging, and Senior Services for South Sound. Up to one meal per day may be provided – either fresh or frozen depending on locale and distance from the serving site.
