Prairie Appreciation Day

Glacial Heritage Preserve and Mima Mounds Natural Areas

Come celebrate spring and our beautiful prairies at the annual Prairie Appreciation Day, hosted by Friends of Puget Prairies, on Saturday, May 12th from 10:00 AM -3:00 PM.

Events will be held at Glacial Heritage Preserve and Mima Mounds Natural Areas featuring an activity trail, interpretive trail loops, tons of family-friendly activities, and information stations from many local organizations, with additional open houses at Shotwell’s Landing Nursery, Violet Prairie Seed Farm, and Colvin Ranch.

Admission is free, although donations to Thurston County Food Bank are greatly appreciated. Please visit for directions and more information.
